Default Seasonal Variations

Our Basset is 9-months old, and came into season on the 2nd July. This lasted for one week and had the symptoms we'd seen before in our Labrador; some swelling, some bleeding and so forth. However, she then came into season again on the 30th July, with more swelling and more bleeding. The bleeding lasted 1-week (just drops) then stopped, the swelling lasted a further week, but now, just as the swelling has almost gone we have found a few drops of blood again!

The Basset is due to go on holiday tomorrow however we're reluctant to take her if she's still in season (and able to be 'caught').

Does this sound normal? Can anyone advise on what's going on?

Thanks

TG

They can have a "split" season, but I've never heard of it being in three parts.

I would have the vet check her over, there is a possibility of UTI or pyometra. If it is a hormonal issue I would suggest spaying once she is mature to avoid potential problems.
