Unhappy Hotspots.

Hi everyone!
I have a 9 week old basset, I got her last week, she had 2 hotspots when I got her. She now has 4 of them. I've been putting Sergant's Benadene Hot Spot skin remedy on them, but it doesnt seem to be working. I feel so bad for her, today she has starting whining while scratching at them. I dont know what else to do...any recommendations?
Thanks.

If you ask 10 different people you'll probably get 10 different remedies. My favorite is Blue Power Ear Treatment. Yes, I know it says "ear" but it's also great for hot spots.
If that doesn't do the trick you should have the vet check it out to rule out a more serious problem.

I've never heard of such a young pup having hot spots.

I would take the puppy to the vet to have her checked out. I've never heard of hot spots in a dog that young either. I wonder if she has fleas and is having a reaction to the bites, causing the hot spots?

If the vet says they're hotspots, the one thing that's worked for Murray. is Genticin Spray, it combines cortisone and an antibiotic. It usually clears the hotspots up within a day or two. It's only available through a vet.

She was covered in fleas when I got her. But they are pretty much all gone now. That could be it. Thanks for all the help.
