Default I have to Sell three puppies and Im scared.

I have to sell three of the puppy's my AnnaBelle had in two weeks! I am so scared that they will end up in a bad home. My husband wants me to post them on Craig's list. That just does not seem like a great idea. Does anyone have an idea how to go about this? I'm NEVER letting any of my dogs go thru the breeding thing again. I thought my Fred was sterill. Belle and Fred have been together for two years.

Craigs list is a very bad idea. Contact your vet and get their recommendations. Check out potential buyers closely. Make sure they understand what they are getting into with a lifelong committment to pets. Have a contract to return the pup to you if at any time they need to rehome.

craigslist is questionable. i got toby off craigslist in december, paid some good money for him considering how broke i am, was promised AKC papers and of course, i still haven't received them! but it doesn't change how much i love him and he gets spoiled rotten with treats toys walks training dog park visits a couple times a week etc. if you go that route make sure to ask a lot of questions!! and i think i'd stress that if for any reason they can't keep the dog to return it to you instead of a shelter.

Default puppies

I believe this forum would be a good place to find good homes for the puppies. We all joined the forum because we love bassets. I am sure we can help you find good homes for them!

This is something that should have been considered long before this.

You want to have a screening process to make sure that the puppies are going to suitable homes. Start checking out websites of good breeders, some will post their puppy questionnaires online (like Rebec Bassets, and Sanrick Bouviers). Also check out some of the Basset Rescue sites, many will also have their adoption questionnaires online as well. This will give you an idea of the questions you should be asking potential buyers. Also, check out some of the pet sales contracts at the breeder's sites (I really like the Sanrick one), and use them for ideas for your own contracts.

When interviewing people, learn to trust your gut. If something about them makes you uneasy, don't sell.

My vet has been trying to help me find homes for them. My vet said I need to charge $200 because that is a big enough investment in the puppy that it would make some one think before letting it go in the streets or hurting it. I have become so attached to the little guy's I just hate I have to give them homes. They are not able to be registered and I would not advertise them like they could. Luckly it is only three I have to sell the rest are veing bought by family and friends. Thank yall so much Im a real Basset case right now lol.

You can also check with your local rescues...some of them will do a post for you. Hopefully after this you will look into preventing this from happening again. Not at all trying to bash you, but these things can happen, but are preventable! Good luck!

So is what I think - the German registered breeders charge for the moment 1.200 € for a puppy - even in the newspaper for dogs without registered papers 200 to 500 € are requested. And I think this is worth it - if someone is only interested in buying cheap - the risk of a bad home is high. We have breeders from puppy mills - they screen the internet boards and papers for cheap puppies.

Do you have something like this basset-rescue site? Basset in Not - sorry the site itself is in german but you can get the idea - they are looking for new homes for basset males and bitches - if you click on the pictures below you can see the description of the dogs and you can contact by email. "Hündinnen" = bitches and "Rüden" = male dogs. This is a charge free service - the only idea is to find a good new place for the dogs.
