We adopted a 7y/o female 11 days ago and she is the sweetest dog ever! However, after putting her outside with the other dogs for 20 minutes to 2 hours( 5 y/0 f American Eskimo and 13 y/o M American Eskimo) Daisy pees in the house - most of the time she looks right at us and pees on the carpet. We have not had this problem before with a female dog, yet this is our first Basset. We have only had 1 issue with pooping in the house, so I am confused. Any suggestions to what we can do differently?

First have the Vet check her for a UTI(urinary tract infection) if that is not the problem then start housetraining her as if she were a puppy.Take her out at least every half hour ,depending on her past she may not have had to hold her urine before or for very long. One trick is to wipe up her pee with a paper towel and put it in a plastic baggie,next time she goes out place the towel in the area you want her to go in. Her smell will be there and she should start to get the idea. Right now the yard outside does not have her scent and many dogs are aprehensive to go(deficate,urinate) where they have not gone before.
