Hi everyone

My 1 year old hound Trudy was in heat and the neighbor's two airdales may have scored. I was wondering what I should be thinking about right now. Can she have these pups? With all the design flaws that bassets have anyway (I say this with the utmost respect and affection) how will a mix do? I would love some pointers from someone who has had a litter.

Have the dog spayed and yes it can be done safely with the dog in heat and/or pregnant.

Not to make light of the situation but I doubt the dog thought it was accidenal!
