Default Bogie Carter update!

Bogie saw, Dr. Tobias, the Vet Secialist in Neurology, yesterday afternoon. He was very, very pleased with Bogie's progress, but did not turn him loose, yet! He told us that his range of motion was almost back to normal. He wants us to still "try" to keep him from running the "Basset 500" and doing his "double axel" spin arounds. Just walks for now, but we can increase the distance and frequency. He also decreased his meds by half, Meloxicam every other day and Gabapentin once a day. We are to continue with this for the next two months and have a re-check with Dr. Tobias on May 4th.

We are thrilled he is doing so well, and he is back to his normal routine and goofy "Bassetness" here at home. His eyes are sparkling and full of mischief again, the tail is up and constantly wagging, and he wants to romp and play. Now the biggest challenge for us is to keep Bogie from reinjuring himself before he totally heals.

How do you keep a basset down? I'm dealing with this myself and it is not easy. Good luck and let's hope that the next visit is a "Good bye and good luck" event.
