This is one very, very lucky little boy. He was an owner surrender at a NM shelter that has a policy of killing os's as soon as they walk through the door. This guy was surrendered about 3 weeks ago and was lucky enough to be allowed to live.
![]() ![]() Yesterday (always on a Friday!) the shelter director called and said he was running a 104 fever and they would kill him if we didn't gt him out NOW because they couldn't afford to treat him. Most of the local vets won't take sick animals from the shelter because of a high rate of distemper and parvo. Well, he might have a fever but he doesn't appear to be sick - just very depressed at being in jail. We found a local vet to look at him, but expect a clean bill of healthy.
