The Hot Dogs

The HOT dogs

Today I walked my basset hounds
or they walked me, I think
and as we strolled throught the park
my heart slowly began to sink

there on a bench sat a man
his dog silently at his feet
and for his good behaviour
he was rewarded with a treat

SEE? I said to Bo and Moose
THAT"S HOW YOU SHOULD BEHAVE
they carried on, ignoring me
after all, I'm just their slave

In the meadow we saw a shepherd
catching the ball his master tossed
we sat for awhile and watched
but the lesson on my dogs was lost

but when we get to the hot dog stand
my hounds are nobody's fool
they know exactly what to do
they just sit right down and drool!

It's nice to see you posting again! I always enjoy reading your basset poems- you should publish them!

Another great one! Just like kids Bassets seem to behave only when it benefits them.
