Well after hearing excellent reviews on the kong I had to go out and buy one and sure enough my dog looooooooves it!! I stuffed it with a few crumbled up dog treats/peanut butter/carrots/cheddar cheese and he is just going nuts on this toy!! Im so happy I bought it.

Id like to hear everybodys Kong recipes, what is your bassets favorite? One lady told me that she freezes chicken broth in it and then lets her basset lick it to death :P I just want to make sure im giving my dog healthy snacks.

Thanks

I bought a Kong once and the icky stuff that goes inside. I bought it to distract my dogs while I attempted to cut their nails. 1. It didn't work, 2. They will no longer go near a Kong.

Here is a recipe posted in another thread by Yogi's Mom:

"Here is a recipe I use for kongs/frozen treats.

32oz. of plain or vanilla yogurt (I use plain so it doesn't have all that sugar!)
1 mashed banana
2 tablespoons of peanut butter
2 tablespoons of honey (I didn't use the honey since I was out of it)

Mix it all up and put into kongs or you can even scoop it into ice cubes trays for a frozen treat."

I haven't tried it yet, I just got all the stuff.

I made Yogi's Mom's above recipe tonight. It is currently in the freezer for my dog's snack later tonight. I made it w/o the banana because we didn't have any. I let my dogs have a taste and they seemed to like it a lot. The funny thing is the way I made it (w/o banana) it tastes exactly like the Peanut Butter Cup Mini Dessert from T.G.I.Fridays!
