It's easy to see why! They are just the best looking Bassets!

NEVER! That's why you will see in every photo on the lanai the ugly saftety fence is up. We never take it down. We literally let ourselves in and lock in and unlock it to let ourselves out. Neither of them can swim. Stickers panics terribly and Rusty sinks like a bag of rocks
We tried the first summer we had them to learn to get out of the pool if they ever fell in. We got an orange traffic cone, put it on the top step. My Husband took him out a little ways in the water and I coached him to swim to the "target" which was the cone for a liver treat. He LOVES liver treats. He was SO paniced he swam every which way. His head constantly went under thats when we got him the lifevest to help him gain some confidence. It never did. He would just swim into the walls over and over again from fear. It's not worth losing my dog. SO the fence will never come down
