Hi all, when is a good age to neuter my boy, Softie?

Ive heard that he needs to be 8 months - so that his bones develop properly etc etc...is this true?

When I worked for a Vet we did neuters at 6 months. A basset grows for a long time so I must say I've never known it to affect growing bones in any way.

I've heard various theories on the growth plates. I think the best thing to do is follow your vet's advice.

my vet said - 6 months is fine... hope this will be ok?!
he is starting lots of dominant behaviour and I don't want him to maybe break out of our backyard, because the poodle next door is on heat or something silly!!!

thanks guys!!

really appreciate all the advice i can get!

My vet told me 10 months and that seems really old to me. I have always heard 6 months. Right now he is 7 months. I am not sure why my vet wants to wait, but everyone told me to listen to my vet.
