After 2,876 miles and 17 days we got back from our trip to Yellowstone and to Helena, MT to visit our son and family. We had a wonderful time, and Bogie was an awesome traveler in the RV. He couldn't go on the trails due to wildlife everywhere, but he did great in the RV while we did some short trails. We baby gated a portion of the RV so he had freedom to move around, and he napped. 70 degree days and below freezing nights, and sunny skies most of the time so the weather was awesome.
We had a wonderful time in Helena with our grandson and really enjoyed spoiling him. Here are some pics of our trip.

Taken at the summit of Dead Indiand Pass crossing the Big Horn Mountains.

Bogie's riding spot and he wears a travel harness and is seat belted in.

Bogie's kennel when we left him while we ate, or visited a site. Dogs are only allowed in the parking areas due to the wildlife.

Bogie checking out the new smells and sights near the Upper Falls area. Rocks everywhere so he had to wear his muzzle.

Old Faithful was awesome.

Upper Falls of the Yellowstone River

Herds of buffalo everywhere. Bogie growled at them when they got close to the RV.

Elk herd at Mammoth Springs.

We took one day to drive to Jackson Hole and saw the beautiful Grand Tetons.

Our traveling machine a 22 foot Born Free "Built for Two" at 10,600 feet on the top of Mt. Washburn in Yellowstone.

Is It yours? Or did you rent it? It looks like the perfect size for a travelling couple (and friend :) ). How is the MPG? My husband and I would LOVE to travel about when the kids are really and truly gone...

Beautiful photos, by the way. And Bogie looks like he enjoys travelling in style! :D

Great pictures--Bogie is very cute. It looks like Bogie had a very nice spot in the RV. I'll bet he just loved it. Years ago, we had an RV, and took our dogs everywhere we traveled. They soon got used to its rocking and rolling, and just loved the trips.

Geat pictures and beautiful scenery. I'm sure Bogie had so much fun.
My basset loves to go on outings too. He tends to believe that I have
arranged everything just for him.

I'm really looking forward to the day I can go to Yellowstone. It's on
my to-do list.

Hey, Buckshot! You noticed my husband's cap, I see. I was born and raised in Memphis, we lived in Johnson City, TN for 7 years, our son-inlaw graduated from UT, so "yes" we are big Vol fans. Hopefully the game with Mississippi State goes the Vols way today. Nice to know there is another Vol fan on the forum!!

Pinkwhip:
It's the "Four Paws Safety Seat Support Harness", and I think we got it at Petco. It has the fleece lining and the large breastplate that fits the Basset chest rather well. The safety belt fits through a loop on top of the back. You just slide it over their head, put the bottom portion between the front legs, and buckle the strapes that come up from either side. Very sturdy and works great for Bogie. Our vet calls it his skid plate, when we take him in to her office.

Here you can see the large breastplate. Bogie was covered because he had gotten cold on a potty run
in 30 degree temps at Yellowstone. We left in 90 degree weather at home and the cold temps were
quite a shock to all of us.

Here is a pic from the "Four Paws"site.

Terry: Bogie is about 15" tall and weighs 58 pounds. The harness is a "medium" and is just about maxed out on the two straps that come from the portion that goes under his tummy and buckle into the strap that goes along the top his back. We probably have about a 1/2 " of weight gain room before it gets to tight. around the middle.

The vet would like to see him lose about 4 to 5 pounds, which we are working on now. He gained while being confined during the ACL healing process over the summer.
