Yesterday we visited The Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania, which is about 20 miles from our house in Speedwell Forge.
The sanctuary is one of just a handfull in the U.S.- there are 5 packs, each of which roams in its own fenced preserve on natural woodland. They allow the public in Saturdays and Sundays at noon for an hour to tour. The tours raise money, plus help to educate the public.

We got to see a pack feeding, and watched as the Alpha female maintained order and disciplined an Omega male who tried to snatch food out of order. It was really interesting.

When we got home, Murray ran to greet us like always, but skidded to a stop and started slowly sniffing our shoes and ankles- his hackles went up! So Murray got to smell the wolves, even though he didn't see them!
