Murray has never really howled.(Just a little one in his sleep once)
A couple of years ago, I arrived at the vets office to pick Murray up after he had a cyst removed. The whole place was in an uproar- the vet thought it wouild be neat to hear Murray howl, so he had gone back to the kennel area, and started "howling" at the dogs. Every dog in the place was carrying on, except for Murray who was just sitting there calmly watching the chaos, probably thinking "what's with this guy anyway?".
Our vet still tells that story-
Thanks for posting the video, I love the sound of a good basset howl! !
Occasionally, the bassets will sing at a dog show. One starts to quietly woo-woo, another one picks it up, and so on, until they're all baying. I love it, but not everyone does . . . .
I loved the videos. I wish I could get my 2 going. A friend of mine said that whenever my 2 stay at her house she can get them to do it, but they've never done it around me...

Hi
Brandy howls when I come home from grocery shopping and come in and go back out for a second load. She hates me to leave her.
