Our boy Fred had an upset stomach Saturday evening and ate a lot of grass to help himself out (it's fascinating that they know to do this!). After throwing up he was back to normal the rest of the night and all day Sunday. Yesterday morning I noticed what looked like a little vomit with some grass in it on his blanket and I thought he might have gotten sick again Saturday night and we didn't notice. Then this morning my wife told me that around 3 AM he threw up more grass.

He hasn't eaten any grass since Saturday evening and has had all of his meals and gone to the bathroom as normal. Is this common for them to retain it that long and it not pass through them?

Could he have nibbled on more on one of his outside trips? My older dog eats grass all the time. We call it "after dinner salad" and her younger sister will nibble, but really chows down when her stomach is upset.

Sherlock does the same thing. He is like a cow, would lay on his stomach and starts eating grass...I think its funny.
