Yesterday (07/13/07) my wife and I had to surrender our basset Einstein to the local SPCA in Roanoke, VA due to a severe reversal in housing. We're absolutely heartbroken at this turn of events and are begging anyone who lives in/around Roanoke to rescue him if at all possible. I believe pictures of him are on the forum and he is an absolute love and-a-half. He is a year old now, house trained and almost leash trained. The SPCA stated they will try and contact the Virginia Basset Rescue and see if it is all possible for them to take him, but we're trying to set up contingency plans just in case that does not work out.

This is our call of help to fellow basset lovers to help out a fellow drool-machine.

I forwarded this forum page to my former minister who now lives in Salem. He may know someone in his church that could help.
I hope the best for Einstein. I wish I could take him, but we have no more room in the inn . . .

I'm sorry you had to give your family member up. Have you contacted BROOD? I'm sure they can help...
