Hi there! I've recently acquired my first basset hound and WOW. What a hoot these dogs are! She's a full grown one but not too old. We haven't named her yet. Sadly the person who had her before didn't spend much time with her in the training department so she really doesn't recognize her current name. We were happy to step in and welcome her to our home. I had no idea these guys were so much like cats. Except for the drooling and grunty noises of course.
I learned so much from this board before I got her and I can't thank you enough for the invaluable advice that you all post here. It has made the beginning of my relationship with her very rewarding since I knew what to expect in general.
That being said, I'll try and post a picture of her a bit later on and thanks again for having such a great place for reference and conversation!
Welcome! I'm sure she'll let you know what her name is when she is ready!
Thanks for giving her a safe and loving home!
Yep, houndies are a hoot. Just when you think you MIGHT have them figured out they'll change tactics and do something to keep you guessing. I wouldn't want to be without one. Or two. Or three....
