Jasper will chew on his bone for hours on end. He will occasionally chew up paper if bored. He actually goes into the bathroom and pulls toilet paper off from the roll and chews it to shreds. He prefers his bone though. I buy him the ham bones from the grocery store with the marrow in them. He also has a container full of dog biscuits and will push up the cover with his nose and reach in and take one out to chew at a time. He's never chewed rocks, sticks, furniture or shoes. Whenever he comes into the house from outside, he runs across the floor and grabs his bone with glee and settles down to chew on it for awhile. Is anyone else's basset so fond of their chew bones?
Ruby doesn't get bones....I've saved her life twice by having to put my hand practically down her throat to pull the thing out. She wants to swallow it whole.
She loves her biscuits and carrots and string beans tho.
Here's Ruby looking mad last year when her daddy wouldn't share his pie. But she eventually got to lick the plate.
