We had some unexpected visitors this week. Ms. Dixie Mae made a new friend!

She normally doesn't bother with small children ...she goes outside and avoids them. But tonight we saw a different side of her. She was surprisingly gentle and patient with Cody. Even a little playful.

She let him pet her and snuggle for the better part of an hour. She even sat with him when he was playing the Playstation. It was very sweet.

Belly was a little jealous but he's too spazzy to sit still for very long He pounced in a few times but there were more interesting things outside.

What wonderful pictures. Those Bassets really love those belly rubs, and there is nothing like watching a little boy enjoying being with his fur friends.

You know the funny thing is that he's never been to our house before. This was just an instant bond. They are returning tomorrow for a good-bye visit with the dogs.

They say he hasn't stopped talking about them I see a hound in their future.

PS I took the opportunity to talk about rescuing.
