Well, after 5 years, he finally howled!!

We were travelling, and Murray was sleeping with me- around 2 A.M. I woke up to a weird , low, "arooooooooooo-arooooooooo". I crawled down to the foot of the bed in the dark and touched Murray, and he startled awake and touched my nose with his, flopped his tail a few times, and went back to sleep.

I think it's interesting that he did this in his sleep even though he's never done it while awake- I guess their brains are just hard-wired for this-

5 years without howling! Wow! Ruby's been howling since day one...but only because we made the howl noise and she would mimic us.

Funny story: first time Ruby howled in her sleep, she jumped up and went looking for the other dog. She was sooooo dissapointed not to find one.

Janice and little Ruby, ("I know there was a dog in here......")
