Flex Petz - sounds like you just rent a dog for a period of time and return it when you're done.

Have you all seen this before? I read about it on a couple of other sites recently. I heard they were planning to open a location here in the Seattle area.

This just doesn't seem right to me and was wondering what you thought about this idea?

Having looked over their website, it looks like a good idea to me. The dogs are all rescues, they're given obedience training, medical care (visit the vet every three months), quality food, are well-socialized and get lots of attention. They would have to be kept well-groomed (or no one would want them). And they're fitted with GPS collars in case they get lost, and temperature sensors to alert the company if the dog is in an unsafe temperature situation.

There's lots of people that would love to have a dog but realize that their situation would not be fair to the animal.

I just don't know. I mean, it is better than being in a shelter, but it seems so unstable for a dog - wouldn't they feel like they are being abandon over and over again?

And how do they insure the dog's safety at each house?

In theory it sounds nice, but I can see a lot of problems with it.

In theory it does sound nice, but i'm undecided - something about it just buggers me ...
