After passing the House, the bill went to the Senate Ag. and Rural Affairs Committe. Amendments to the bill include:

Creation of a Canine Health Board consisting of 7 vets to review requests for exemptions.

Kennels that have not been cited for 3 years can avoid implementing changes for 3 years which include larger cage sizes, increased solid floor surface, vet care, stacking, heat, light and ventilation requirements, housekeeping and cleaning.

Specific parameters have been removed which address temperature highs, ventilation equipment and requirements, ammonia levels, lighting, and cage flooring.

Outdoor runs would not br required.

The bill should be up for the Senate vote the week of Oct. 6th.
