Bugsie, aka Bugsworth Floydbunny UDX NA NAJ, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 15, 2006, at 15-1/2 years of age. She was the first Basset Hound to earn AKC’s Utility Dog Excellent title, and served as a wonderful ambassador for the breed in her pursuit of it.

Bugsie was my Novice A obedience dog, and the ride from Novice A to UDX was happy, goofy, and full of the unexpected.

Bugsie enriched my life immeasurably, and her death leaves a gaping hole in my heart.

Betsy, I'm so sorry to hear this. I think when we 'so something' with our dogs, achieve goals together and have a good time doing it, we forge a bond that is both immeasurable and unbreakable, even by death.

So sorry Betsy, what a wonderful hound and what a wonderful life with you. 151/2 years!!!!! you were so fortunate to have her that long, although I know that is no consolation. Take care.

Bugsie sounds like a sweet little pioneer. 15-1/2 years is almost more than we can hope for, and certainly less than we would wish. Peace to you and yours.

Betsy and Kevin, I called you this morning. I am so very sorry. It's so hard, so sad, so painful. Betsy, you and Bugsy did such an awesome thing. Novice A to UDX is unfathomable. Your hearts and hard work will be forever recorded in history, and in the hearts of all of us who train (or are trained) by Bassets in Obedience. Via con Dios Bugsy. Take care, Belinda.
