2004 USA Crufts Obedience World Cup

Excitement mounts as the USA Obedience team heads to England for competition at Crufts March 7, 2004. Listed below are countries and the order in which they will be competing for the World Obedience Title.

1. Holland
2. Scotland
3. Wales
4. Eire
5. England
6. USA
7. Northern Ireland

The USA team running order, chosen by Team Captain Pat Krause, AVP of Companion Events is:
1. Joanne Johnson – Hobby – Shetland Sheepdog
2. Jose Martinez – Slammer - Golden Retriever
3. Louise Fox-Meredith – Twister – Border Collie
Alternate - Bobbie Anderson – Rio – Border Collie
Scoring
The following process will be adopted to decide the winners:

Team competition, 21 dogs to run in total (3 per team).
Winning dog receives 22 points,
2nd place - 20pts
3rd place -19pts
4th place - 18pts etc… down to 21st dog - 1 pt.
The total points earned by the three dogs will be calculated to get the overall team total. The team with highest points is the winning team.

Individual winner, if 2 dogs tie for overall first, they would run-off to decide 1st/2nd. If 2 dogs tie for third place they will both get 3rd place points (19 pts each), then the next dog will be 5th and get 17pts, etc…

Run offs for Team Competition
In the event of a tie for the 1st/2nd places, the alternate dog and handler will be required for the run-off to decide the overall winner of the team competition.

BBC might be the best best for TV. I remember seeing some of the conformation on Animal Planet (I think) one year.
