There is a Basset Hound Club of America Hunt Test (all AKC registered Bassets can enter, intact or altered) in Carlisle , Pa. May 2nd and a fun field trial the next day. There will be a representative from the AKC at the test as we are trying to get it approved and sanctioned by the AKC. Motel 6 in Carlisle is cheap. Belinda, you didn't mention that the grounds are fully fenced -- no lost hounds

The fun field trial is a great idea, like taking the hounds to a dog park. Anybody with a basset that has never been in the field might want to enter and just see what it's all about and how their hound reacts.
