Horray for Belle for her first (and second) First Place finash in the Open Class at the AHBA field trial on Saturday AND Sunday!

We had a pretty good turnout this weekend. It was tough getting a rabbit going but we did it. We had a great time!

We drove from Binghamton, NY to Elizabethtown, PA. It took about 3 hours, we left Saturday morning at 3.45AM. Needless to say we were pooped! (and so were the hounds!).

Thanks Tim - and the judges (Ben, Sam, Mark) for a putting on a great hunt. And to everyone - THANK YOU for all the support, question answering, handholding, but especially, your generosity in the Buninator's and my first year of hunting. The next best thing to watching bassets smell the ground is doing it with a group of people you really like.

I would to thank Ben and Sam for all there help judging not only at this hunt but for all the hunt's that e-town has. Thank's to Dean I could not have done any of this with out you. Thank's Mikey T for coming down from RI.

Susan congratulations on belle fist and second wins. I know how hard you and belle have worked for it. Thank's for coming up to all the hunt's this year and all the training we do together.

Who'ld a thunk six post before I chime in :P

As promised a link to video of the trial it includes fours seperate cast The first being Belle's frirst Win At the very end Is the begining of the first an only rabbit run and as the video evidence to as more juding done by sound than sight because of the denseness of cover. The same Goes for the Final section which is oaf the Champion Class Ben will be happy to see Luke's backtracking on video

But in the end he had enough positve point to make up for it and win the class. And the final scene you can hear the dog see the brush move and them exit. I am going to post it on the General forum with a Field trial primer as well

The video is as high quality as I can post and still have free hosting service but it is only goof for 31 days. If some one has a home page etc I can provide html code to a higher end flash video that should enhance quality more . Also if wantes just drop me a line at Tefts@verizon.net or a pm with your mailing address and I can send out a dvd which would be far the highest quality.

FWIW it video was shot in HD however my computer at the house is sold old I can't edit in HD but if find the HD video still finshes much better tha starting out in regular definition.

Great video --- too bad we didn't have more rabbits, but it shows what we do at a hunt.

Bell now has enough points for her rabbit championship, just needs one more win--- not bad for a spoiled housepet rescue basset. Susan is doing a wonderful job with her.

Thanks for posting this--it was very interesting to watch. Without the foliage, you can really see the dogs work.
