Sometimes the flaws add to thier charm. While I know little about the fine points of conformation my rescue Hardy seems to have every possible flaw. Underbite...sway back...bug eyes..front legs so crooked that his feet splay out. Yet everyone who meets my guys thinks he's the most beautiful boy

Your Macy is so cute. If the nose and foot are not causing any problems don't worry with it. Just enjoy the lovely hound you have. Macy is marked up just like my Flash. I think the red and white bassets are bueatiful. Dogs are like people they aren't always going to be perfect... but look at the good traits. And enjoy.

I think she is precious and as long as she is not aspiring to go to the ring... she should be someone's best friend for lots of years! If I could, I'd grab her up and bring her home in a heartbeat!!!

I just love her little face - looks kinda like a bull terrier's, with that Roman nose...

I'm not surprised people tell you Hardy is gorgeous--he is. Bug eyes? I think he has lovely dark eyes.

What a sweet face Macy has,I'm glad you kept her others would have put her down, she just makes me want to hold her. I wanted to add a few things to the problems bassets can have, there are two major bleeding disorders in bassets. One is vWd,von Willebrand's,a hemophilia(spelling?) type of condition, your Vet can test for,and Thrombopathia, which resembles vWd, but is different and your Vet cannot test for this .Cornell U. does the testing and one other Auburn, I think but not sure. The dogs/puppies need to have the blood drawn at Cornell or Auburn. They can be tested as young as 8 to 12 weeks old. Both bleeding disorders can devistate a breeding program. Not all breeders have dogs tested, the breeder of my Bubba Dog had his siblings tested and their numbers were fine. Some breeder's have had pups bleed to death losing their baby teeth or they need transfusions to keep the pup going,it is usually a lost battle anyway.
