She had surgery (took longer than the neurologist thought it would take). Looks like she won't be able to walk after she comes home, for a while. I don't know, this all just happened. She won medals at the "Basset Olympics" benefit for Tri-State rescue 2 weeks ago. I don't understand.... Belinda. And thank you for your thoughts.

Oh, Belinda, I am so sorry to hear that. Perhaps she will recover more quickly that you think, with a loving mom to help her. Our thought and prayers are with you both.

Franny and I send our symapthy and good wishes for a speedy recovery. It's so hard to "think" for our pets when we're overwhelmed by "feel". It requires a clarity of mind that seems almost impossible in the face of the knowledge that your little girl will face at least some pain and discomfort. I "think" you've done the right thing by giving her the chance to recover from this. I "feel" for the both of you.

Will be sending healing thoughts for Molly. Hope her recovery time is better than you think now. Forget trying to think like a nurse-I'm a blithering idiot when it comes to my animals.

OH, Belinda. Hang in there. What does tne neurologist say? I can only tell you the tale of our Samantha, who had a herniated disk, couldn't walk, and I carried her up and down stairs. (She weighed 70 lbs--I was stronger then). We took her on a vacation in an RV, and carried her in and out. And eventually she walked again, and did everything she did before. It took awhile, but it happened.
