surgery went well today! his chest x ray came back clear of any tumors too, which is great news. he's staying at the vet overnight and coming home tomorrow afternoon. we will keep you updated on his recovery. thank you all so much for the support! it's been a really hard week, but you guys have been awesome with your advice and kind words!

Yea!!! Great news so far - will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how he's doing when you bring him home if you get a chance.

hi basset friends! gabe and i just wanted to give you an update! it has been about two weeks since his surgery and we are so relieved to say that gabe is doing excellent! the vet even removed his bandage today. i will say it was a little startling to only see three fingers on his paw at first, but the vet says his hair will grow back and the swelling will reduce in the next couples of weeks. the best news is that his mobility is much much better than we had expected it would be. he does hobble a little now, but when the boy wants to get somewhere, he will RUN! he has no issues going up and down steps, getting into the car, and thank heavens can still get himself right up onto the couch without any assistance
 so far there is no sign of the tumor growing back and no other tumors anywhere else including his lungs! gabe wants to thank you guys for all the positivity and well wishes during this whole ordeal. he's about to take his mid-day nap and dream about his delicious thanksgiving feast on thursday! talk to you guys soon! woof woof xoxo

Great news. So glad he is healing well and pray for no more tumors. Hope Gabe and his family have a very nice Thanksgiving.
