Hey everyone, so I got my little girl ava in april and she will be four months on the twelfth. I noticed her baby teeth have started coming out recently and since she is an apple lover I gave her a few pieces of cold apple to soothe her mouth if it is sore. I was wondering if there was anything else I should be doing for her? She has swallowed the tooth that came out and from taking care of a pitbull pup I know that is normal but what else if anything should I be doing for her? Thanks for your replies in advance!

I remember when Lightning was a pup (a long, long time ago), I would find his baby teeth in my bed. The first time I found one, I freaked out! It had been decades since I'd had a puppy and I didn't know they lost their teeth. Sorry, I can't help you with things to sooth their gums.

Hey everyone thanks for all the replies! Yes she is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned, a little skittish around new people but she is slowly getting over that. I read that the seeds were bad for dogs so I just sliced pieces off the apple and she has gone nuts for that! I've never had a dog that was so into fruit lol. Other than that I gave her a couple ice chips and called it good for now.

I have apple trees in my back yard, and for the last 11 years Lightning has helped himself to two or three apples every night during apple season. He's healthy as a horse (knock on wood), and I think the apples are a big reason for that. I don't know what negative effects apple seeds are supposed to have, but I haven't seen them.
