Bubba, In the beginning You are not alone ,most of us have gone through what you just did with Lou. My story is about Bubba (85,84,83,)Jen's is about Flash and there are many others .We are here for you .The grieving process is never fun but it has to run its course, and just when you think it is ok again,it will come over you once more.Remember Lou in some way by putting together a photo album or writing about him, like a journal. This also helps a lot. Thank you for trusting us with your heartach.

I am so sorry, and what a touching story. Rest in peace, Sweet Lou. Thinking of you and sending hugs.

I'm so sorry. I've also been in your shoes twice and it's never easy. You gave him the best life you could and I love that he buried to bone, sounds like a basset to me. It made me smile.

Thank you everyone. It's been 8 nights and 9 days without him. I do OK for the most part, and then I remember and it hurts, I cry and then go on to the next thing. It's like riding a wave. I have lost dogs before, but I don't recall the pain like this. Must be a Basset thing. I am glad that I have you all to come to and visit and read stories and talk about this amazing species.
