Default Dirty mouth, even though it's brushed!

Okay, so I have no clue why Bowser would have such a dirty nasty smelling rotten mouth! He gets his teeth brushed EVERY night. Seems like ever since his adult teeth came in, though, he's had bad breath off and on. Well this time is worse than ever, and when we were trying to look around in there we saw he actually has a couple irritated gum spots... some pretty stinky gingivitis.

I've tried some sprays, and we've tried being super careful and brushing each tooth and gum gently with lots of tooth paste...but not a change at all!

He's only a year and a half old.
Is there something else I may be missing that could be causing the gingivitis? This is like, death breath. Not just dog breath. It smells like a rotten tooth, though we can't find anything wrong except two or three irritated gum spots around the tooth.

Any ideas? : (

Yikes! Not sure of a cause of the stink, unless it's coming up from the belly...

Annie gets a teaspoon of Lifeline Organic Kelp with one meal a day, keeps her breath very lady-like

Could he have food trapped in the skin folds round his mouth?
I think it is quite a common problem in some breeds like spaniels.

I would have the vet check it out. That said, some dogs just have bad teeth. Pepper's teeth are just horrible, she's only 3 1/2 and when she has her next dental I'm afraid she's going to lose a lot of them. I've never seen anything like it quite honestly.

I would also check all the folds around the mouth. Rusty has lots of deep pockets that are constantly wet so he gets Lip Fold Pyoderma Nasty smelling, kind of smells like a dirty mop!!!!!!!!!!!

Mariah had surgery for skin fold pyderma to remove the pockets because clean and trying to kep dry was not effect worked well for her.
FWIW mariah had rotten fish breath as a result of her skin fold problem

As for problem with the gum I know at least one that uses hydrgen peroxide and a q-tip to wipe around the gums every other day to prevent this problem Using a mouthwash that kill germs might help as well using this technique,.

that sad have a vet diagnose the problem which might have multiple cause is the way to go
