Hi all

I'm new to this site, I live in the UK have two wonderful basset hounds Dottie is 2 and Louie is nearly six.

Louie is weighing in around six stone at the moment which is quite big but he's my big cuddly hunk and I love him loads..

I'm a little worried tonight as he seemed to start shaking uncontrollably (just his head which is weird) for about 5 minutes. I have absolutely no idea why and it may be a one off but have you any ideas ?

welcome to the forum, finally a member from the uk too lol i live in staffordshire!!! not sure myself about the shaking you have seen louie do tonight might be worth phoning a vet for some advice about it to put your mind at rest unless someone on here can give you some reason hope he improves soon x

Is it just the head shaking back and forth as if he's saying "no"?

If that's the case I would suspect a petit mal seizure. Myrtle had a couple of episodes of this before having her first grand mal.

At any rate, I would discuss it with the vet.

if the shaking is rhythmic it is more likely a tremor.
