Hello Everyone,
This is my first time here, it's 6:09 am. My Girl, (Shorty) has a really bad anal gland problem. It's been on going for some time. She is just a bit over 3 yrs. old. I've been up all night with her, waiting for the vet to open at 9 and I'm sure she would do the same for me! I have to take her to the vet at least twice a month, and losing my job 1 1/2 years ago to this Michigan economey, well the vet bills are killing me. So I think I have no choice but to have the surgery to correct this problem. Any thoughts? I just can't bare to see her in such pain all the time. Thanks for listening, George. What kind of an anal gland issue is it? An impacted gland? Some dogs need to have their glands expressed manually on a regular basis, others do fine on their own. You could also try taking her to a groomer as most groomers will express the anal glands as well as part of the groom. Might be cheaper than a vet visit if that's the issue?
