You are very, very, very fortunate that there were no complications and that the mother is still alive.

Please take this opportunity to spay her NOW, if you value her life at all.

Please don't. The thought of those sad little puppies destined for the pound and their mother nothing but a puppy herself is too tragic for words. None of them deserves this. There's nothing to celebrate here.

First of all Betsy, you don't know me and I don't know you. It's very rude to judge me. Not everyone can be perfect. I made a mistake and I know that. I will have to live with that for the rest of my life. I have made many mistakes in my life and I imagine I will make many more before I am dead, just as you and everyone else will. But, I also learn from my mistakes and this is one mistake that I will never make again.

I am celebrating, even if you don't think I should be. I still have my Droopy and she is alive and well. If that isn't a reason to celebrate, I don't know what is. Once the damage had been done, there was nothing I could do to change it. All I could do was hope for the best and everything turned out fine. So yes, I am happy.

Also, you don't know what will happen to the puppies. Don't assume they are going to be ditched somewhere. As a matter of fact, I already have 3 of them going to loving homes when they are old enough and I will not send any of them to the pound. If I'm unable to find loving homes for any of them, I will keep them myself until I can. I owe that to her.

Regardless what you think, I do love my dog. I have been sick to death with worry and in constant tears. I have never felt such emotion for an animal in my life. She has been a real joy to me and I am lucky to have her.

I never came here wanting approval for the mistake I made, I was simply needing to express what I was feeling inside and hoping for some support and advice.

If you don't want me to post a picture of the puppies, that is fine, I won't. If you wanted to hurt me with your words, you did. Hope that makes you feel better.

Just glad everything turned out alright. Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is gained from mistakes. We have all been there. I bet the puppies look pretty cool though. Speederbutt

Your puppy and her puppies are the victims of this mess, Gingin, not you. Actions have consequences, and one of those consequences is judgement by others.

Even if you don't dump the puppies on the pound, surely you're aware that most dogs that end up in the pound are mixed breeds of medium to large size that are about a year old.

You'll want to stay in close contact with your puppies' new owners to insure this doesn't happen. And if you're committed to preventing it, you'll need to be prepared to take those puppies back into your own home if their original owners can't or won't keep them.

Yes, I am aware of that, Betsy. The homes the puppies are going to, are homes of people I know and am in daily contact with. And yes, I already told them if it doesn't work out, to please bring the dog back to us.

You are right, Droopy is the victim of the horrible mistake I made. My mistake was not getting her fixed right away and thinking I was doing enough to keep the dogs apart when she was in heat.

What is done is done. Now I'm trying to make sure everything has the best possible outcome.

I will go ahead and post a link to some of the pictures. That way if you do not want to see them, feel free to bypass the links.

They are getting so fat already. I will have to take more pictures of them soon.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone. Even though some of you might not be supportive of what has taken place, which is completely understandable, I still do appreciate this board and I'm happy to be a member here.
