You may want to check the Basset Hound Club Of America's site. There is a member link that will give you what state you need with members names . Don't be afraid to check in surounding states like New York etc. Good Luck

Default Be patient

Hello, I've been reading your posts stating that you are searching for a basset pup, in the mid-atlantic area. I live in PA and am searching too. When I first started looking, I felt the same frustration that is represented in your words. My advice to you to is be patient and follow the advice on BHCA and from people who post here. You really don't want to buy a pup from "just anyone". I have found a couple of litters but the timing wasn't right for me. I need to bring a pup into our home during the summer months due to work schedules. Really search with care and make arrangements that will work to make the homecoming for you new pup a "forever" home!
Be patient, research..........there are reasonably priced, good stock pups out there.................Good Luck!

Default PS

There is a basset hound event scheduled for Ocean City New Jersey the weekend of April 16th. The Doo-Dah Parade's main feature is a Boardwalk Waddle sponsored by Tri-State Basset Rescue. Check it:
Boardwaddle 2010

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend on that date. It's sure to be a great place to meet a basset!

Not sure where in NJ you are, but Huckleberry mountain bassets in VA www.huckleberrymtnbassets.com/puppies.html has a couple left. They are about 6 hours from Newark. Don't really know these breeders, only know them because my sister breeds labs and beagles in the same area, but from the info on the website they seem OK. Of course if anyone here knows them, hopefully they will speak up.

Huckleberry has some nice looking dogs - but there contract is not the best. Probelms often do not arise within the 5 day period and after that it looks like you are stuck.
