As long as the picture is 2448 x 3264, everything should be ok. Resolution of 2448 x 3264 is approximately 8.0 megapixels. At 300dpi this image is capable of being printed at 300dpi up to about 8x10inches. If you save an image of that size at a medium quality JPG (6 in Photoshop) you will end up with a file size of approximately 600-700KB. Naturally, some edge and tone quality is lost due to compression, but it is not that bad, and should still be “printable”. There is no need to resize anything, just change dpi settings for the picture. It is not the same as if you reduced resolution and then needed to upsize it back to the original resolution.
